Hello everyone! I would like to ask you a question, something that has been on my mind since I came back a couple weeks ago. I asked people on the forums, but would also like to ask you here as well.
Back when I was an active user (2006-2010) I used to spend my time on either a few specific parts of the forums or, mostly, the few guilds I had been invited to. They were friendly gatherings with no particular raison d'être other than the fact that we all were regular faces on said forums, and thus were kinda familiar with each other. I also wasted plenty of time on other features of Gaia Online, such as the Cinema, Towns, Marketplace, events and minigames; but the main draw was the former two.
Eventually I started posting less and less, because I was a very shy 13-year-old kid and had a lot of trouble letting loose. And by the time Gaia had started changing, my former guildmates had grown-up lives to live and thus started leaving as well. So did I.
However, now I'm back and I'm a sucker for nostalgia. I feel like I want to go back to what I used to do back in the day, to have a sense of community that no other social media ever gave me. But my former guilds are gone, and I am very disconnected with the world and userbase of this site nowadays. All I know is that the site activity is a fraction of what it used to be, that there were huge problems with the former owner's decisionmaking and the infamous inflation, and that things seem to have gotten real bad before improving; although the website seems to be slowly on the decline.
So I don't know what should I do. I joined this guild because it seemed like a fun place where I could find mature people to talk to, which I think is a step in the right direction; but I want to know more.
Thus my question(s). What do you do with your time on this site? Do you visit regularly, or just occassionally? Are your preferred forums/guilds still active?

I'm pretty much still a regular on Gaia, I mainly post a few times, do a bit of Dumpster Diving, and vote/enter runway other than that it's pretty much what I do.

What is Runway? I've seen the term used a few times, but I'm not familiar with it. Is it like the old Avatar Arena?

Is it like the old Avatar Arena?It's pretty much the same, we dress up our avatars according to tomorrow's theme, than we enter them, and vote on the ones we like( we cannot vote for our own avatars.) There are a total of three different themes we can enter and each has a different entry fee. #1 Theme entry fee: 50GC( sometimes it's free) #2 Theme entry fee: 250, 000, 000 Gold #3 Theme entry fee: Free

Ive been on and off on Gaia since 2008, and I super relate to coming back because of nostalgia. I join guilds and usually interact on the forums there. On the actual forums...well I tend to post on only select subforums.
But I also do a lot of fishing on Gaia! I still wish they would rewrite it. Disappointed its the same, if not more broken game. I really do love the fishing minigame here and I have many fond memories with it. zOMG too of course. Its revival is a good sign, so when that was announced I started to be active on Gaia again. Besides these things I play Kindred too, multiple tree killers for gold farming. Not that I love the game, but if it makes me money then thats good for my enjoyment of making more outfits for myself haha! heart
Over these years, the guilds I've joined have sometimes become completely inactive, or are only sporadically posting. Thats fine though, since I can just join new guilds. Overall, still fun. I love Gaia smile

Hello!
My favourite part of Gaia luckily still exists, I love playing the Marketplace to the point of buying amazing items without spending real world money.
Except by the Pokémon forums, the AMG is the only place I post. This guild helped me a lot in the early 2000s when I was suffering from depression, and it still retains the people and quality of discussion I fondly remebered.
So, for the most part I'm here buying and selling stuff, running special events, and talking to people here.

I'm around at times. I usually frequented RPs in the forums. A lot of them could get really creative and I miss it. Mainly now, I'm in a few guilds and I do avatar consulting for a few old friends.

I've been here since 2008 and the main draw for me is the role playing and the guilds. My favourite part of the site is the forums.
I used to play on zOMG but I was terrible at it, even tho it was fun. Lol.
I also love B/C shops where you raise and rp a baby to an adult. My favourite is still the GMFC even tho it closed down some years back. I still go in and read all the journals and view all the cool art. biggrin

 I like to log in and fiddle with my avi, check out a couple new items. I don't have any regular friends I chat with so I joined this guild in hopes of finding some like minded people closer to my own age or older - I'm 25.
Usually I like to just hang out in rally or towns or something, which is what I used to do, but it doesn't seem the same anymore. Whenever I actually have people I socialize with online, that's where I like to go. To be goofy. Some times we gravitate to a chat like on Skype or Discord to chat and share a couple drinks over the internet.
I never really got into guilds or forums, because I never could seem to keep up with my erratic schedule of school/two jobs. Now it's just the one full time job and a step daughter. ^^ Much easier.

I am literally here for the guild and the ability to dress up. Flash stopped working for the games, I used to play those a lot because it was soothing kinda.

I'm on Gaia every day. I hang out in the AMG forums and Lake Kindred and Switchem. Gaia has changed so much over the years. Inflation is here to stay but it is easier to earn gold in games to make up for it.
