Haha. WOW. Texas got mauled by Miss Tropical Storm Hermine.
See, if I stayed back in South Texas I would have been fine.
But noooo. I had the great idea of leaving home to go to Central Texas. Riiight where Miss T/S decided to land.
In our campus, we have a river that separates main campus and the parking lot (and all the dormitories where I live). Man that thing was FLOODED. And it still is. Usually when it drizzles, it'll flood. But apparently we got more than 5" of rain last night. o_O There were several trees that broke into little pieces and apparently someone got mauled by a whole tree. One tree by the street was completely uprooted. I'd show pictures, but I haven't taken any.
Also, I was wandering around town (during a break in the storm) with the b/f looking for lunch (cause Cafeteria food reminds me of public school food.. disgusting) and every single fast food place we went to was closed. sad "The power went out earlier and we're waiting for Corporate." What the HELL is that supposed to mean ******** you. Bill Miller's was open. AND THEY HAD CALCULATORS! scream
My sis (Zev)'s power is still out. Bwahah. Luckily I think our campus runs on separate generators in times of emergencies. Hooray for moneygrubbing private institution!

Quite the ordeal, all that. Glad you were unscathed AND you saved your money from eating at McCommunism. xp

I'm fine. I thought it was just a spooky storm. I turned on the weather channel today (after the fact and partly to see if i was gonna have archery) and I saw TROPICAL DEPRESSION RAPING TEXAS. sweatdrop
And maybe that's why she left...

I saw sooo many people's umbrellas SNAP from the wind. It was funny. My boyfriend, his coworkers and I were all trying to encourage the wind to make people fall over. It was amusing.
