• In wonder, a hundred eyes do now gaze
Reflecting sort of thoughtful joy- they stare
Glowing amber center, lit red ablaze
It’s delicate skin so smooth and so fair

Perfect and round, like a cold, tiny sun
    Illuminating a world, sinister
    Beautiful, naïve, the innocent one
A constant reminder of what we were

This marvel of nature that sits upon
Black velvet, it rests in satisfaction
With such unspoken grace, a diamond swan
    Silent splendor, shimmering distraction

A great gem so inexplicably fine
A shining glass marble in a coal mine
