A cloud in the sky

• Description: Just something that popped into my head while being half-asleep and seeing a suddenly darkened road, along with the surrounding area.

When a heavily, massive dark cloud with the skill to block out the sun in its entirety covers up the road before you with but the tiniest ray of sunlight pricing through a tiny little opening, which do you see:
The darkness engulfing the light, casting shadow everlasting upon your world, or that even the smallest ray of hope will shine brightly when faced with such overwhelming darkness?
