-
Cold runs through veins of winter,
As I hide in the basement;
My mind.
Shivering, I curl inward,
Turning numb -
Dead.
Sky fills with salty water
In this winter;
Make it end.
Air fills with silent screams
In this basement;
End it.
I hide from the snow demons,
They won't find me here
In the basement.
Eternally hiding,
From winter, demons;
I won't escape
This basement of winter.

- Title: Basement of Winter
- Artist: BellaXEdward_forever
- Description: I wrote this for Creative Writing class. Our assignment was to use the prompts we answered to create a metaphoric poem. The prompts I used were: If I was a season, I would be winter, if I was a room in a house, I would be a basement, and if I was a sound, I would be a silent scream.
