That jolly time is coming near.
Now is not the time to shed tears.
But when you don't come by,
I wonder if it's just because you're shy.
[The night went on,
And the feeling was gone]
We promised to meet
And give out our season greets.
But why is it that you do not show.
I wait by the window and noticed it began to snow.
I turn on the radio, close all the windows,
And listened to our song play.
As I danced the night away,
The moments I had with you were stuck on replay
[You weren't here for me.
Maybe love isn't always a guarantee]
I held onto the precious gift,
Knowing that my heart was waiting to drift.
I just couldn't let go
Of the feelings I wanted to show.
[Love is a double crosser]
On that lonely, warm night,
I turned off all the lights,
Removed the decorations
And Removed you from my frustrations.
On that tragic, cherished night,
The sky was painted white
And my soul crushed and broken.
My love was left unspoken.
On that beautiful night,
My eyes filled with pain and fright.
I wished upon the loveliest star in the sky
For a gentle goodbye.

- Description: Most of the poems I've read about Christmas are all jolly. Well, it's understandable, but Christmas isn't always happy, so I decided to write one with a different feel. Basically, the girl feels sad that her guyfriend (was going to confess) doesn't show up for Christmas like they promised. She's scared that he's with someone else and wishes for a non-painful way to tell him good-bye. Kind of cheesy, ne?
