Upon the winter solstice I wept
The dark night hid my eyes
But as the tears fell they glimmered with moonlight
The shadows embrace me
They are my only friends
Lovely darkness hold me
The moon is fading
This world is dying swiftly
The light will soon be gone
I fear my suffering is worthless
No warmth touches my soul
The icy breath of the day is coming
The sun has died long ago
So why does the moon still glow
Perhaps the sky has pitied me
There is no one else to do so
I feel no warm breath
I feel nothing for comfort
Who am I to turn to
No friend and no love
Only the shadows embrace me
