I've sat by and watched her change
But it's like the world can't see
She's turned her back on friends
On family, on life
But no one seems to notice
She used to stretch her arms to the skies
But now it's like she never had wings
I've watched her change
The smile become hollow
The eyes become empty
The face become a mask
But it's like no one else can
Her parents think it's only a phase
Her friend's think it's the average depression
Yet no one sees her slipping further
With every move they make to keep her here
Secrets burried so far deep
Walls built up past the stars
She's playing a game
Acting a part in the play called life
It's not real to her
Yet no one seems to see...
I watch as she gets ready to hang with her friends
As she gets ready to put the mask on
She gets to them and no one seems to notice
The dried tears under the blush
The pain in the eyes behind eye shadow
The cold voice beneath lips in red
They see the mask
She's got the world fooled
Not even the doctors, the shrinks can see it
Not the teachers, the students
Not any one
I watch her change from the girl high on life
To girl thinking how to end it
But no one sees it
They don't see her grip the knife like it's her life line
They don't see the dents in the closet doors
They don't see the tears of pain falling from her eyes
They don't hear the screaming in her head
The voices she can't control
The urge to down the bottle of pills in alcohol
No one sees....
Except me...
I'm watching her....
Watching me...
Like a bad movie....
I'm not in my body...
I'm watching from the outside....
And no one seems to notice...
I lost my body....
To her...
