Blizzard
The blanket of whiteness is calm,
So serene and pure.
Like the world could fit in your palm,
And never have to endure.
The snow fox pounces in play,
She has just come out of her den.
But her mother gives out a bay,
Of a storm coming when.
A glistening snowflake falls to the ground,
While another lands on the nose of the pup.
Soon there is enough to equal a pound.
Filling and filling, many a cup.
Snowdrops fall faster now,
The two foxes are almost buried.
But the mother will allow,
For her pup to be worried.
As the wind begins to howl,
Mother takes them in the den.
For the weather is turning foul
And the mother is like a hen.
The snow begins to fly.
The sky is an ominous midnight.
The blazing wind lets out a cry,
Creating the most dangerous of sights.
The clouds are a mass,
Their ebony conquers the light.
The wind harmonizes in bass,
Flying snow in fight.
Blizzard rages for hours,
Never taking a rest.
She wields all her great powers,
Fighting the world with her best.
At last her anger starts to fade,
Her rage is all spent out.
For from the storm, she has made,
An escape for all her anger, this bout.
She quells her howl,
And fades her cloud.
She ends her prowl,
Is no longer loud.
Mom steps out from within the hole,
Her pup following slowly.
Slippery, slipper, like a pole,
Not for creatures lowly.
The sun is shining,
The day is good.
No more crying,
For no one could.
