Should I fall asleep tonight?
To let my eyes fall softly?
It is just too painful to dream of her radiant face,
Her face that I may never see with my eyes open.
To feel that fantasy of reality,
Where my life is no longer burdened by loneliness…
It is a happy thing to dream,
But the dreamer must always wake.
And what have I to wake up to?
An empty bed?
A tear stained pillow?
A shallow life, with fading passions….
That is what awaits me when the dream must end.
But still, there is hope.
Hope that I shall see her face.
Hope that someday I will know her name,
Hope that someday she will know mine.
Oh, to view this unknown beauty with eyes open.
I cannot see her yet,
She is too far away,
Until I may meet her I am content to dream,
Though my reality may be burdened,
It is a burden most bearable with hope in my heart.
Oh what a happy thing to dream.
