• My Old Best Friend
    By Jabawokeecoffee

She started out as my best friend,

We used to have tea parties,

With fuzzy bear and rag doll,

We used to share our Smarties.

As the days grew long and the months went by,

The fun never seemed to get old,

We spent our time under a summer sky,

With promises made and secrets told.

Until a new girl moved next door,

Her name was Janie, she was wild.

She knew so much more of life,

    Company for an only child.

Winter seemed to come so soon,

    And childish days had passed,

    Summer dreams forgotten now,

I had a human friend at last.

I placed my old best friend,

on a cold and dusty shelf,

Her face seemed cold and stark,

As she was left there by herself.

As I drifted off to sleep,

I thought I saw her turn her head,

When I opened my eyes to look again,

She was sitting on my bed.

    She smiled an evil smile,

And my stomach filled with dread,

As from behind her back She drew out

    Janie’s severed head.
