Let me be the scent upon your pillow
When you wake in the early morning
Let me be like the phantom in your dreams
That haunts your desires in your sleep
If I can't stay in your memories
Then at least let me be a fading dream
If my face were to fade away
At least I can be a phantom; here to stay
I can see my smiles dissapear from your mind
As you dream sweet dreams you recently did find
But let me tell you, as I quickly remind
The dreams you dream were once mine
When you wake this next morning
Let me be the scent upon your pillow
To welcome you to the new sunlight
As the moon goes away and says "goodnight"
When you wake you'll think of a phantom
That once upon a time haunted your dreams
You'll know who it is, but not quite remember
I am the phantom that haunts your sleep
