You know, there's gotta be something to say
About those people who just throw it all away.
Its hard to imagine a good reason for that
For pissing away the rest of the day.
How do you get in the mind of a murderous child?
A kid with a blank slate now handcuffed and filed.
It's hard to imagine a good reason for that
For throwing your life away.
Then there's the men who stalk, rape and beat
The women they fixate on and who they wanted to meet
It's hard to imagine a good reason for that
How did it turn out this way?
I need an explanation on why a parent thinks its all right
To beat a child until they have no more will to fight.
It's hard to imagine a good reason for that
Tell me, how did that become okay?
Right now, there's a drunk passed out and kissing the pavement
His face buried in puke and I'm not sure if he'll make it
It's hard to imagine a good reason for that
When he wakes up, I wonder what he'll say.
And when your little girl's cutting with thoughts of dying
Because at school she can't handle all the hate and lying
It's hard to imagine a good reason for that.
A life lost for what you thought was play.
So, please, when life has put you hard through the ringer
A word could save you, or a song, if you're considered a singer
It's hard to imagine a good reason for things not to change
'Cause if it won't, your life is what you're going to pay.
- Title: Why is This Considered Okay?
- Artist: huxlee
- Description: Just a poem about some of the worst sides of life. I'm begging for an answer, though. How did it get this bad? How did we get to the point where the only newsworthy stories are fixated on violence or disturbing themes? >>; And, if there's no answer to those... I beg for an answer for a more important question. How do we fix it?

Some lives are better then others...
Some are worse.
If, like you say, someone is abused or hurt in such bad ways, do you expect their lives to be good? Some will, but some won't.
It's not a person's fault.
As for your poem, it is very thoughtful, however it gets a little repetitive especially due to the rhyming, but it was definately not bad.
