• One perfect night under a starry sky,
A young couple sat on the hood of a car.
The young man asked what he should buy, price aside,
If he wanted to her to become his bride.

    The woman was shocked,
    and gave little thought
    She told the young man
    What she would want.

    “I want something that shines,
    But will never lose face,
    Something that’s mine,
    That I’ll never misplace.”

    The young man considered this,
And stood up on the car,
    Pointing above, he said
“I’ll give you that brightest star.”

    She laughed at his thought,
    And gave a him smile
“Dear that star’s too far away,
    hundreds of billions of miles.”

    He hopped off the car,
    And kneeled in the sand.
The woman looked, down to see
There was one little star in the palm of his hand,
    A small sparkling diamond,
    One wedding band.

    “Will this one work instead?”
