• The sky, the stars,
    So black, so bright,
    The earth, the sun,
    So wrong, so right,
    The moon, this space,
    So new, so old,
    Those dwarfs, that hole,
    So hot, so cold.
    How peculiar is it?
That we sit here to see,
    What we long ago were,
    Will never again be.
    The stars, the sky,
    We know, we know,
    The sun, the earth,
    Don't grow, don't grow,
    The moon, the space,
    We've seen, we've seen,
    The dwarfs, the holes,
    Have been, have been.
    And how odd is it?
    How odd, I ask!
    That which we see,
    In lights no longer last?
    For their suns are dead.
    Their light is gone.
