Oh winter mistress
Thy gown of most sterling
Silks and snows
Sorrows and emotions
Gorgeous to mine eyes
And enthralling my soul
Why do you tease me so?
To hold me so far off
And yet so close
Never letting me know
Icy mistress
Your hand so cold
And yet warm
Your kind words do soothe
Yet your distance torments
What plans do you hold for my heart?
Mistress
Do I please you?
Do your tantalizing words
Mean my heart is yours?
Or shall I remain in the bitter wasteland
Of ceaseless self-doubt
Oh dearest mistress
The leash around my neck
Burns me
Scalds me with fear
Fear that spring might never come
And our love might not be one

Description:
A delightful little love poem I wrote about a ladyfriend of mine who I'm rather fond of. I wonder what would happen if she were to stumble upon this and realize it's about her? Hmmmm......
I might get a smack in the back of the head. Or not. I dunno. I dunno -3- - Date: 07/21/2008

- This is pretty cool. I like how you refer to her as 'mistress' - something unusual in a love poem! I'll give this three stars - it could have been better written, but still, not bad at all.
