For some time i sat outside on the balcony, watching idiots drive by. The florescent lights of Los Angeles glowed on the stars. Music from bars made me sick. The grass Baylee Qwet had somehow planted on the concrete balcony was still warm from the sun earlier today. i thought dark thoughts and decided i would spit sushi on the tourists below. But Lauren came out, in her perfect ironed shirt and slacks. Her briefcase in order. She seemed uncannily small at the moment, like a lost child. She usually was the know it all mature one. That was Lauren. She sat down. I turned away and tucked my gold hair behind my ear. I wished it was black like my tattered wardrobe. I hugged my knees.
"we need to stop, Mac." She sighed. i grunted in reply.
"i'm sorry. Our juvenile behavior, over a boy, a hippie boy, has gotten the better of me." Lauren fidgeted.
"i thought i would hate him. When i first got here. You too. I mean, a lawyer, a hippie, and a McDonald worker in one apartment?" i said.
"we do have our differences." Lauren wiped down her suit with a lint roller.
"turned out i love him. And so do you." i was angry.
"we will let Baylee choose." She stood. Baylee came up to the balcony door. He was covered in paint and glue, with a tye die shirt and converse. His long brown hair was sticking up in places.
"want to see my new sculpture my lilies???" he sang. Lauren and I smiled sweetly and followed him in. Both our hearts reached but neithar could obtain... yet.
