Four teenagers named John, Joshua, Carline, and Lynn, all lived in a forest. The thing is each one has a special talent. John, has the strength of two men. Joshua, can calm people down with words. Carline can cook food from Heaven. And Lynn can improvise very easily. Everyone had forgotten about them after a year. The problem with them all was, they used the forest like their own personal mall or store. The cut down trees for fun, killed animals for food, and left their trash everywhere.
When they were remembered people would say “Those kids are nothing but trouble makers.”
Their ruining of nature angered the Gods and Goddesses, especially Zeus. They sent Hermes down to warn the teenagers.
“You four need to stop cutting down trees, and ruining nature!” stated Hermes in an angered tone.
“Why should we?” said John sarcastically.
“I am warning you” “You are angering the Gods.”
“So?”
“Well. Then don’t say I didn’t warn you.” yelled Hermes as he disappeared like a chameleon.
“What was that about?” yelled Lynn just coming into the camp.
“Hermes came and said something about stopping our cutting down trees and stuff.” Joshua yelled back.
“And he said ‘Don’t say I didn’t warn you’ whatever that means.”
“What was that?” asked Carline in an uneasy tone.
“I don’t –“
BOOOOOM! There was thunder rolling in from out of nowhere.
“Oh. So that’s what Hermes meant.” yelled John over the roar of the thunder.
“It’s just thunder.” said Lynn.
As soon as she was done speaking rain started pouring down. Their camp was located under a shade of trees. The rain still squeezed its way through the thick canopy of trees.
“Grab your stuff and run!” commanded Lynn.
“To where?” demanded Carline.
“NO WHERE!” shouted Zeus.
“You heed to have followed Hermes warnings.” “Now you must suffer until you learn.” As quickly as he appeared he vanished.
“What does he mean?”
“He means this storm doesn’t stop until we stop ruining nature and disobeying Gods and Goddesses.” said Joshua.
“I have an idea.” said Lynn, “How about we only cut down trees for necessities.” “And we get food from town instead of killing animals.”
“So I guess, that John, you only use your strength to cut down trees, only when we need them, and Joshua, you won’t have to calm animals down anymore, and Lynn, you need to figure out ways to save nature, not destroy it. And I have to cook food from the store. Not nature.”
“That might just work.” said Carline.
“I guess we just have to promise not to mess up nature.”
“I guess so.”
“I promise.” Said John, Joshua, Lynn, and Carline in unison.
As soon as that was done and said, the sky grew clear again and the sun pushed its way through the trees like a baby opening its eyes for the first time. Don’t take advantage of things just because it’s there, or if you can take advantage, don’t.
