• Lours slowed as we neared the Laboratory, “ lets land here and gear up.” We landed softly and took the backpacks off of our backs; we had picked them up at Lours hotel before we left for the mission. I dusted of my jeans and straightened my black sweater, I carefully tucked my wings into my back wincing from the pull of my flesh moving to shield the wings, and I turned and watched Lours do the same. His face showing no pain from having to do it for years, he looked at me a nodded, “ done?” He asked. I nodded as I slung the backpack off and opened it; I reached in and pulled out a gun, knife, rope tied to a grappling hook, flashlight, gasoline, glasscutter, a stun gun, hair tie, and four sleeping gas bombs. I took the hair tie and tied my hair back wrapping it up into a small bun. I put the guns in the belt I had on, and made sure they were hidden well, then I continued hiding weapons on me. I stuck the glasscutter in my bun, flashlight in my shoe, the sleeping bombs I strictly hid on my body. I returned the gasoline and one of the bombs back to the backpack, I opened the front pouch and saw my metal cutting tools, zipped the bag closed and looked over at Lours. He had changed into the outfit he was going to infiltrate in; his task in the mission was as a new scientist sent from one of the other labs to check up on how the research was going, he is too distract the scientist while I brake in and free the C.O.T.W. His backpack contained a cell phone, matches, a gun and stun gun, and a lock pick. He reached over and patted my head, “you ready Rose?” He said smiling as he handed me is bag after placing his weapons and tools on himself like I did, I blushed a bit and nodded,
    “yes.” I said as I slipped the rope onto my shoulder.
    “Ok, set your watch, what is signal for detonation?” He asked setting his watch.
    “Two gun shots, the second will be shot 4 seconds after the first.” I answered him as I set my watch,
    “Got it, be careful ok, please don’t get hurt?” he said as he smiled and kissed my cheek, I blushed a whispered,
    “ok.” He smiled one last time then his face got serious and cold. “If anything starts to go wrong get out of there leave me, got that, I will disable the security cameras and alarms, do not do anything till you hear a small click signifying that everything has been shut down.” He said coldly. I nodded sadly and crouched down into position, “on the count of three you go, ready, one, two, three!” Lours yelled as I sprang forward running as fast as I could towards the lab with Lours right beside me. We weaved in between trees, as we neared the laboratory I pick an area to hide, I veered off as Lours slowed to a fast walk till he reached the doors. He showed the guards his identification, they nodded and opened the doors, his head turned slightly towards the area I was in and gave a small nod, he entered and I waited.


    Lours

    I quickly made my way down the hall way to the experimental room after I gave Rose the “I’m in” signal, she looked adorable crouching in the buses her blue eyes staring back at me. I’ve been in love with Rose sense I saved her from her creators laboratory four years ago; I was eighteen soon to be nineteen, she was fourteen almost fifteen. I would of not of saw her had her wings not of been poking threw the rubble, she was barely alive and looked like a doll about to brake, when I looked into her blue eyes I fell in love and decide to raise her and train her, and she would be my partner, surprisingly she came along with me. I have treated her as a sister, but now that she is a grown up I wish to be her boyfriend then her brother, but I don’t think she loves me like I her. I sighed and shaked my head to clear the memories and focused on the mission, I open the doors labeled “experiential room.” Four scientist greeted me with handshakes each giving off their names, in return I gave then my mission name; Danny Stervan. “Welcome Dr. Stervan to Remedy Laboratory, we special in DNA splicing, training and experimenting, breading and much more.” I nodded coldly swearing in my head that these men would pay, I walked over and flipped threw some of their research, DNA charts, profiles, training plans. I felt sick I wanted to turn around a punch each man in the nose, but I halted and stayed in character. “The data is astounding, and the testing seems to be working along with the training would like to see one of your experiments.” I asked threw my teeth.
    “Oh you’re in luck we just created a new specimen you might like.” Said the man named Richard, as he signaled one of the works to get the C.O.T.W., a minute later a man in an orange jump suit rolled in a small girl in a tube filled with water, her eyes were lifeless and she had tentacles instead of arms and legs, her face had fish-like features. I felt sick, they had beaten her, brained her with the symbols “RL”, “this is our newest creation; her DNA is fused with octopus and angel fish.” I looked away from the little girl and clear my face of any emotion,
    “she’s amazing, I’d love to see more, but if you excused me I have to use the men’s room.” I lied, they laughed and a man named Peter pointed me towards the bathroom, I nodded and calmly left the room. Once outside I made my way towards the security room, pulling out my stun gun when I reached the room, I took a deep breath, opened the door and fired two shoots into both men in the room. They clasped to the floor stunned, I quickly closed the door and went to work disabling the security cameras and alarms.

    Rose

    I sighed quietly, I had been waiting an hour and a half and my legs were already asleep, I was about to sit down when I heard a small soft click signaling for me to move onto phase two. I carefully removed the sleeping bomb from my shirt and the flashlight from my shoe. I turned the flashlight on and pointed it towards the guards to get their attention and started waving it around, I listened as I heard one of them grunt, “what’s that?”
    “I don’t know Bob, lets go check it out.” The other guard grunted, I counted to 10, took a deep breath, removed the pin from the bomb and threw it. I heard the gas release and a thump as they both clasped to the ground, I sprang from the bushes and sprinted over to the wall, swung the rope and tossed it, I tugged on the rope, smiling when it didn’t come down. I quickly climbed the building being careful for windows; I stopped at the fifth floor, removed the glasscutter from my bun and cut a hole big enough for my arm to get threw and unlock the window. I was glad that Lours had found the schematics for the Laboratory, showing were they kept the C.O.T.W., I quickly unlocked the window and crawled threw, being quiet as not to make any noise that would having the lab nerds sniffing around. I removed the metal cutting tools from my bag and went over to the cages, there was about twenty cages and four tubes, I looked away disgusted when I saw the branders and wipes that hung on the wall to scare the C.O.T.W. I slowly walked over to the first cage, I could hear a little girl crying for her mom, I shined the light on her and she gasped and yelled mommy. I stiffened and sighed, “sorry sweetie but your mom isn’t here, what’s your name?” the little girl moved closer to the bars.
    “Mickey.” She sobbed, her face was black and blue, there was dry blood on her arms, and the letters RL poked out from her thigh. She had claws instead of hands and bird feet, I bit my lip and swallowed the vile in the back of my throat, “hi Mickey, my name is Rose and I’m here to save you.” She smiled and clumsily wiped her tears away.
    “Hi Rose, your going to take me back to my mommy right?” She asked her little blond head bobbing as she pressed her face to the bars. I smiled and petted her head,
    “of course sweetie, now back away from the bars so I can open them.” She giggled and moved back, I cut the lock off and yanked the door open. She crawled out and clung to my leg,
    “are you like me?” she muffed as she pressed her face into my leg. I smiled and released my wings, she gasped and said,
    “pwitty.” I giggled and ruffed her hair,
    “now Mickey I need you be quiet and go sit by the window ok?” she nodded and skipped over to the window and sat down singing “marry had a little lamb” I smiled and moved onto the next cage. This one had a boy just a little bit younger then me, his eyes were swollen shut from the beating and he had spikes instead of hair and sharp teeth, he stirred as I crouched in front of the cage, “hi.” I whispered. He gasped in pain and tried to open his eyes,
    “hello, who are you.” He gasped and I bit my lip again.
    “My name is Rose, and I’m here to save you.” I said, I gasped when I saw the letters RL on his neck, “what’s your name?”
    “Billy, what do you mean save me?” He said as he moved closer to the bars. I smiled and grabbed his hand and moved it up and down my wings,
    “I’m from C.O.T.W., we save and help people like you and me, nice to met you Billy, if you move away I can free you.” He smiled and winced in pain as he slowly moved away, I broke the lock and helped him out.
    “Thank you, you’re going to make these men pay for what they did to us right?” He asked, I put my hand on his shoulder and said,
    “If it’s the last thing I do.” He smiled and let me lead him over to Mickey, she smiled and started talking to Billy, and he smiled bigger and thanked me again. I nodded and continued opening the cages, I was astonished when everyone cooperated with me, I pulled out Lours phone and dilled Candy. “ Hello?” she answered sweetly.
    “Hey Candy, it’s Rose, mission 3 complete I need back up, four tubes and twenty plus creations, ten percent child, five percent teenage, and five percent adult.” Listened to the clicking of her computer keys.
    “Back up will be there in twenty minutes, good job Rose.” I smiled and patted Mickey’s head as she clung to my leg,
    “Ok I will continue onto mission four; removal and destruction, bye.” I closed the phone and stiffened when I heard foot steps,
    “did you hear that?” A man outside the door asked, I felt Mickey stiffen and her claws crushed my leg. I gasped and slapped my hand over my mouth,
    “what was that?” The doorknob jingled and I removed the stun gun and amid, I quickly pried Mickey’s claws off and pushed her behind me.
    “No one move.” I whispered as the door creeper open, I held my breath, placed my finger on the trigger as light filled the room.


    Lours


    I set the stunned guards against the wall and quickly snuck out of the room and made my way back to the experimental room, she should be done freeing the creations of the world, and just called Candy for back up, but why hasn’t she fired the detonation shots, I thought to myself as I slipped into the room and was given a welcome back. “Shale we continue examining the experiments?” This time Tom the oldest scientist asked as I took a seat.
    “Maybe later, right now I’m more interested in seeing more of your data.” The men nodded and scurried around the room going threw stacks and stacks of papers, as they did I planned my next moves. They came rushing over giving papers after papers, when they turned away to get more I carefully and stealthily pulled out my stun gun out and hid it under the papers. I finally was given the last of the data and pretended to analyze it, when I thought enough time had gone by I looked up and said, “good job men I’m amazed and intrigued by your data, I just want to say one more thing.” I reached under the papers and pulled the gun out, “for scientist you guys aren’t that smart.” I fired several shots and watched as four bodies hit the ground, I put my stun gun away and the data in my pockets, then pulled out my other gun and aimed at the door. “Is everything ok in her-agh!?” The guard yelled as I shot him in the leg and arm as he threw open the door, I jumped over his body and ran down the hall, I hid my gun as I entered the main entrance. Twenty scientists stood around yelling, “what’s happing?”
    “Is there intruders?” I smiled to myself and played along, I counted and waited for Rose to perform the main finale.

    Rose


    My first shot hit the security guard, but the second I fired missed the other and he had time to hit the button on the wall setting off the alarm. “ GET OUT!” I yelled to the others as I wrestled with the guard, he had knocked my gun out of my hand when he hit me and now I fought him for the gun in my belt. I looked back and they stood there petrified, I sighed and kicked the guy in the gut, “ GET OUT GO! I’LL BE RIGHT BEHIND YOU!” They nodded and ran out, some carried children and the injured, and a couple wheeled the tubes out. I smiled as the last person left, “now we can dance.” I said to the guy as I kicked and punched at him, he caught my arm and threw my to the ground, my gun slid out from my belt and skidded across the room. He noticed the glasscutter in my bun, he pulled it out and impaled my left wing shoulder to the ground, I screamed and clawed at the glasscutter with my free hand. He kicked me and went after the gun, I grabbed the cutter and ripped it out of my shoulder and crawled towards the gun. I kicked at him and knocked his feet out from under him, I grabbed the gun and flipped over on my back and fired at him. The shot hit him in the heart and he clasped to the ground, I sweared at myself, Lours is going to sculled me for this one, I said to myself as I raised the gun in the air and fired, counted to four and fired again. I quickly crawled over to the window to grab our backpacks, I sighed happily when I saw reinforcements “mission four complete, now for the finale,” I said as I pulled the gasoline out from my bag and the matches from Lours, I splashed gasoline around the room and called Billy in, I gave him the match after lighting it and said, “would u like to do the honors?” His smiled widen, he flicked the match and the room burst into flames, “Billy take the others and get outside there will be people there to help you, do not wait for me.” I told him as I grabbed the stuff and we ran out of the room. He nodded and him and the others disappeared down the hall, “good boy, now to find Lours.” I said as I flew down the hall, I removed the other bomb from my pocket as I entered the main entrance.

    Lours


    I stood with my hands in the air, the guard I had stunned had found me and had me at gunpoint, Rose where are you! I thought as the guard grabbed the guns from my belt. The guard pointed the gun and slid his finger over the trigger and was about to fire when I heard Rose scream, “Lours!” We all looked up as she flung herself from the baloney, the scientists gasped as her beautiful wings flew out and glided her. I smiled and knocked my guns out of the guards hands, “see ya suckers.” I said as I jumped into the air, I grabbed the guns with one hand as the other caught Rose’s, she smiled, “hold your breath!” She yelled as she soared higher and pulled the pin out of the bomb and threw it down, we gasped as the gas sprayed out. We stayed in the air till the gas cleared then Rose landed as the reinforcements burst threw the door, I watched as a little girl with a bird feet and crab hands ran out from hiding and clung to Rose. She blushed and I laughed, “it seems you have made a friend,” I said as Rose ruffed the little girls head, a boy with porcupine hair came running over to Rose, I laughed harder and said, “correction you have made two.”
    She blushed a beautiful red and mumbled, “shut up.” I chuckled and hugged her,
    “Good job Rose, are you hurt?” She stiffed and looked away.
    “No.” She lied as she petted the little girls head again.
    “Rose don’t lie to me.” I said as I grabbed her chin and turned her head towards me.
    “Not now Lours, later.” She said as the C.O.T.W. were being lead out of the Laboratory, a man walked up to me and said,
    “Sir the top floors are on fire we need to get out before the building is engulfed with flames.” I sighed and Roses slung the backpacks off of her shoulders, I unzipped mine and pulled the matches out of the bag and put my guns and the papers in there. “Rose would you be the perform the main finale?” She smiled and pulled the gasoline out of her back.
    “I would love to Lours.” She coed, my heart skipped a beat and I wanted to gather her in my arms and kiss her, but I held my back. Rose acted like it was Christmas, she giggled as she popped the top off of the gasoline and lifted into the air. “Everyone get out, Lours once I’m done light the match and run I will be right behind you.” She said as she started splashing gasoline around the room.
    “You got it Rose, alright everyone evacuate the building.” I yelled to Rose and the others, they quickly got the rest of the unconscious scientist out, the little girl I heard Rose call Mickey, and the boy called Billy waved good bye to her and ran out of the building holding hands. I smiled and thought of me and Rose being that way, I watched as she spiraled threw the air like she was dancing with the gasoline. When she was done she tossed the container down to me, as she glided down to me her left wing gave out and she yelled in pain as she spiraled towards the ground, “ROSE!” I shouted as I ran towards her and caught her before she crashed to the ground, she was clutching her shoulder, is was gushing blood and her arm lay limp at her side. “Rose what happened?” I asked as I took my coat off and pressed it to her wound, she flinched and smiled at me,
    “You should see the other guy.” She shakily laughed as her eyes closed.
    “Rose…ROSE!?” I yelled as I shook her gently, she was breathing heavily and her shoulder was losing a lot of blood, I swore and lit four matches and chucked them. I scoped Rose into my arms as the matches hit the floor and the room exploded into flames; I grabbed the bags and ran out the door. “Some one get a medic!” I yelled as I ran out the door holding Rose like a broken doll, the little girl and boy ran over to me, the little girl was crying and the boys eyes were finally open. “ Is she ok?” They both said, I nodded and yelled louder,
    “CAN I GET A FREAKING PAREMEDIC? Men ran towards me and lifted Rose out of my arm and placed her on a gurney, I waved goodbye to the kids and ran after her.
    “She has lost a lot of blood and there is a tip of a glasscutter imbedded into her arm, and it has been dislocated.” The guy that took Rose from me said as he started to clean the blood from her wing and arm, he looked at me and said, “who are you to this girl?” I looked at Rose and smiled, wishing I could say her boyfriend; I turned to the man and said,
    “her partner, I will not leave her side.” He man sighed and nodded over to the chair that was in the medical truck, I sat down and watched as they cleaned the wound then slowly pulled the glasscutter tip from her shoulder. Rose was still unconscious and probably couldn’t feel anything, but when they shoved her arm back into it’s socket she screamed and started yelling cuss words at them. “Rose be quiet, they are helping you.” I said as I walked over and smoothed the hair that had came out of her bun away from her face, she smiled at me and placed her hand on mine. “Hi Lours, sorry…I didn’t keep my promise, I fired and hit the other guy, but the second guard was to quick. We wrestled for my gun after he knocked my stun gun away, I was wining till he caught my arm and shoved me to the ground, then he took the glasscutter out of my bun and impaled me to the floor.” She was shacking and trying not to cry, “I got the gun in the end and shot him, I’m so sorry Lours.” She whispered as a tear slid down her cheek, I smiled and wiped the tear away.
    “Don’t be Rose, you did a great job.” I kissed her forehead and nodded at the medic to put her to sleep, he put the needle in her arm and her eyes lids started to drop.
    “Lours I’m sleepy, I’m going to take a nap, will you be hear when I wake up?” She slurred as her grip on my hand loosed and he head started to lob to the side, I smiled and kissed her cheek this time.
    “Of course my black Rose.” I said, she smiled and mumbled something as her eyes closed and her hand dropped from mine, “sleep well Rose.” I said as I cherished her cheek one more time before sitting back down, the man smiled, “you must really love her,” he said as he slid Rose’s shirt off and bandaged her shoulder and wing. I smiled and looked at her beautiful sleeping face,
    “more then life itself, I want to be by her side forever.” He walked over and put his hand on my shoulder,
    “you better tell her that before she flies away.” I smiled at him sadly and nodded my head, he smiled at me and left, he came back a few minutes later with a bowl of beef stew and fresh baked bread. “Eat, you need it after completing your mission.” I nodded and took the bowl from him and ate, he took my dishes from me and left again, I slid my chair over to Rose’s bed and sat down, she was sleeping peacefully. I grabbed her hand and stocked her cheek with the other, I smiled and gazed at her face; it was heart shaped. She had rich cream-colored skin, and a small perfect nose and beautiful plump red lips. She was like a doll, breakable and beautiful, I gently pulled her hair out of the bun, “Lours.” She muttered in her sleep, I grabbed her hand,
    “I’m right here, and I wont leave till you wake up,” I told her as she continued to muttered random things, I chuckled and sat waiting for sleeping beauty to wake up.
