The thing is stuck in a sea of hot tar and muk. It feels itself drowning but does it struggle? No. It sits there peacefully, staring outwardly as if accepting it's warm embrace.
You ask this creature "Why don't you lift yourself up from this? you don't look that deep..."
The thing looks up at you with sunken ashy tired eyes and replies "because no matter how hard I struggle I sink further and faster, but if i stay stagnant I sink slower" it's bulbous head looks down as he lifts his slender long gated arms to embrace himself.
"but giving up is just as bad as dying" you say to it. It frowns as it's clamy white skin wrinkles around his mouth.
"...that maybe so but it's certainly easier"

Description:
I have been in... a terrible place so while in that bad bad place I wrote terrible paragraphs. They are somewhat poetic but more of short visuals.
Anyway I felt like sharing because...I kinda like it. - Date: 01/16/2018

- Very deep and a poignant self-reflection. Only minor capitalization and issues with word choice, but regardless, very nice.
