• It was a beautiful summer day in the middle of a forest, there were 2 young 6 years old twin girls named Alice and Anne Mei. They were playing peacefully, when all of a sudden a powerful demon called "The Devil" appeared. "In the near future, I shall terminate you" The Devil said in a sinister voice. So Alice and Anne learned to use a power called "Abyss" that has been sealedinside their bodies.

    10 years later, when Alice and Anne were 16 years old, they completed their training and they became official shrine maidens. The 2 twins went to the shrine that they worked at. All of a sudden, red fog began flowing in and the Devil appeared. " The time to meet be is near.." the Devil said ,then vanished. "At least we're ready since we trained very hard." Alice said.

    Alice and Anne were walking to the shrine ,but Anne saw a bolt of red light suddenly. "I just saw--" Alice paused. Alice saw that the Devil just slayed Anne in fron of her eyes! Alice noticed that Anne casted the shikigami spell before she was slayed and because of that, she turned into a shikigami. Shikigami Anne gave an amulet to Alice and said "This amulet contains my soul. Please make a doll so that I can help you prepare for the grand battle with the Devil." Alice was in tears as Shikigami Anne disappeared.

    Alice told Shana Nightingale, her best friend and student council president, that Anne sadly died from cancer because Shana doesn't know about the Devil. The following day, Alice saw that there was 6 roses on Anne's desk in the classroom.

    Alice's dorm partner was Shana, so Alice asked if Shana could lend her some doll parts so that she can make a doll. After she finished the doll, she put the amulet Shikigami Anne gave her on the doll. Suddenly, the doll moved and gave Alice a hug. "Sister...I miss you so much..." Anne the doll said as cried with tears.

    The Devil sent his final message to Alice to have a battle in the underworld. So Alice changed into her shrine maiden outfit and went to the underworld. Once the battle started, the Devil almost killed Alice, but the doll Anne protected Alice by blocking the Devil's attack. "I'll transfer my part of the Abyss so it shall be complete." Anne said. "Alright..." Alice said with a sad voice. Suddenly, the Devil turned into a small version of himself! And because the Abyss was completed inside of Alice, she finshed off the Devil with the power of Abyss. After the battle, Alice learned how to control the Abyss.

    But the missing part of the legend was that when the shrine maiden who completes the Abyss dies, she becomes the ruler of the unknown of Abyss where the souls of the shrine maidens of the past contiinue to live peacefully.
