• Sirens blared behind me as I jumped rooftop to rooftop building to building. I heard shouts down in the street and gun fire, but it was lost as soon as I jumped to the next building. People wonder how a person could pull this kind of stuff off and jump about ten feet to the next building. Mostly it was my long cloak that parachuted me across the alleyway like batman. But with my kind of reputation and the bag of money that I just . . . Um . . . acquired, I wouldn’t be on batman’s side if he were real.
They set up a blockade on the next building. Once I landed on the building they ordered me to surrender, yeah right. I ran full force at them then jumped landing on one of their shoulders then pushing off again, landing on the other side of the blockade. With my cocky attitude I made a mistake and turned my head sticking out my tongue like a six year old. Right as I turned around I caught one glimpse of the metal bar right before it hit me in my head, and everything went completely black.
When everything came back into focus I caught the faces of triumphant of the local police, obviously they hadn’t taken off the cowl to find a thirteen year old boy, instead of a man that had been stealing their money. They peered down only to see my eyes in the shadow of the cowl and they backed off because normal people don’t have yellow eyes. I decided I needed help if I was going to get out of here and not kill anyone.
“Devon,” I called, and the officers were confused at my sudden outburst. “I’m in a bit of a fix, can you help me? Devon I know you’re ignoring me, hello?”
Suddenly the shadows reached out with demonic like hands and started to pull on the officers uniforms. Then it started to form into something truly scary, and the officers ran scared to the door to the exit of the rooftop. Then the shadows stopped and formed a small eight year old boy, with a lot of chocolate on his mouth.
“What in the world took you so long?” I asked rubbing my head. “You took a complete five seconds!”
“Umm I took a detour and got sidetracked,” He said looking guilty.
“You raided the candy store again didn’t you?”
“No! What would make you say that?” He said looking for the evidence that I had picked up.
“You have chocolate all over your face.”
“Really?” He asked whipping his face. “I thought I got it all off this time. Come on let’s get home!”
