• Hi my name is Isabella Menteño, I am 16 years old and I am 5’2”. I live with my mom and step dad in the lower part of Chicago. I had to watch my 5-year-old step sister, Sarah, for a week. I love to watch her, because she is one of the most joyous kids you would ever meet. When I got home from school that monday, Sarah was waiting for me out side. “Sisa! Sisa! Sisa!” Sarah screamed as she came to meet me. “Sisa, I missed you!” She said jumping into my arms. “I missed you, too” I said, grinning from ear to ear.
    When we walk in the house, my mom and step dad, Jessie, were rushing around. “Oh, hello Isabella. We have to go. I love you both” She said giving us both quick kisses and trotting out the door. Jessie wasn’t far behind. “See you soon girls, love you.” He rushed out the door, too.
    Just as the car pulled out of the driveway, the phone rang. “Can I answer it? Can I Sisa?” Sarah asked, practically jumping out of my arms. “Do you know how?” I asked, setting her down. She ran to the phone. “Yes” She whispered to me, as she picked up the phone. “hello. Menteño residences” She said. I gave her a thumbs up. “NO! NO! I’M NOT ALONE!” She was frantic now. I motioned for her to hang up the phone, and she did. She ran to me. “Hun, who was that?” I asked, picking her up. “I don’t know sisa. All he said was ‘Are you alone?’ sisa, I’m scared” she was crying. “Honey, it’s gonna be okay” I said, patting her back. “Sisa, I’m. I’m kinda hungry.” she said. “okay, I’ll get you something to eat soon.”
    I walked into the living room with Sarah still in my arms, and the phone rang again. “Sarah, go into the living room and I’ll be right in.” I sat Sarah down, and she walked into the living room. “Hello.” I said in to phone. “Hey, Isabella.” The voice said. It was Alex, my boyfriend. “hey, Alex.” I said kind of relieved. “sweetie do you think that I could come over for a little while?” He asked. “Of course you can.” I said happily. “Do you think that you could bring over a pizza and some soda ?” I asked in my sweet little girl voice “yea I will” he said “love you Is.” I could feel myself blush. “love you, too, Alex.” Then the line cut off. I went into the living room, and sat with Sarah. “who was that? your boyfriend?” she said, smirking. “yes, now he will be here soon, so lets go get ready.” I said, picking her up.
    We went into my room and we picked out my favorite sky blue blouse and snow white skinny jeans. Then we went into Sarah’s room and picked out her favorite green sweatsuit. When she was finish getting her clothes on, we pranced into the bathroom. I put in my purple contacts, and then put on my purple eye shadow and eyeliner and favorite red lip gloss. After I had finished, I heard the door bell rang. I walked out of the bathroom with, you guessed it, Sarah in my arm I sat her down in her chair in the living room and the door bell rang again. “Coming” I called, fixing my shirt really quickly.
    I opened the door “hey, hun” I said when I saw Alex standing on my front porch “hey Is” he said. He had a Box of pizza and a bottle of coke in his hands. we kissed quickly before walking into the dining room. “Sarah, dinner’s ready!” I called.
    Then, she walked out of the bathroom and was soaking wet from head to toe. “WHAT DID YOU DO” I screamed. I heard Alex chuckle. “Alex!!!” I said as if I were going to cry. “It’s not funny!” I looked at him and looked away. “I’m sorry is I know it not.” He said giving me a kiss on the cheek. “come on, Sarah, let’s go get you some clothes” I said patting her back. We walked into her room and I closed the door “what were you thinking?” I asked her. “I’m sorry Is. I don’t know why I did it.” She said, tears forming. “It’s OK. I just don’t get it, this isn’t like you” I said grabbing her pink P.J.s out of her closet. She put them on and took her baby blanket off her bed.
    “Here you go, Sarah” I said, handing her her dinner. I got down on my knees and gave her a kiss. “go in and I’ll be right there” I said, she walked away and sat in her chair. I got myself some dinner and Sarah some juice. “Hey Isabella.” Alex called as I walked in. “Yeah? What’s up?” I said. “do you wanna watch a movie?” he asked. “well I just got twilight, do you wanna watch that?” I said walking to the T.V.. “sure why not?” Isaiah shrugged. I put in the DVD, grabbed the remote and sat next to Alex on the couch. “hey Sarah, come sit next to me.” I said patting the seat on the couch. She sprang up out of her seat and sat next to me.
    “so you’re a twilight fan, huh?” Alex said, patting my back. “Well Duh.” I said. Alex chuckled and looked behind me. “what?” I turned around, to see my sister asleep on the end of the couch. “Oh, I’ll be right back.” I said standing up. I took sarah dinner plate off her lap, and grabbed her blanket before picking her up.
    I sat Sarah in her bed and cover her with her her blankets and gave her a kiss. just before leaving, I closed the window in her room just in case it gets cold.
    when I walked out, I could have sworn that I saw some one in the forest. I stopped and looked out the window, but what ever it was was not there. “What are ya looking at?” Alex said. I must have jumped 6 feet in the air. “oh. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you.” he said hugging me for what seemed like forever. “but really what were you looking at?” he asked looking out the window. “I thought I saw something, what it was nothing.” I said turning away from the window. we both walked into the living room. he sat down on the couch, and I got on his lap. from then on we watched the movie in silence.
