Ignite glared at his father, the one who probably did this all on purpose and who had said that Ember was the evil one. "You did it, Father!" Ignite said, "You set the fires and hoped that Ember would be blamed! Why?"
Horatio glared back at his son. "She's not good enough for you! I thought I paid that Demon Hunter, Ignacio, well enough to massacre the entire clan. It upsets me, son, to know that one survived and spawned a half-breed. I should have killed them all myself." He then walked up to his son and grabbed his throat, strangling his child.
"Stop, Horatio!" Nagi screamed. She rushed to her son, but Horatio, with his free hand, threw a fireball at her. As soon as she was engulfed in flames, she was dead.
Seeing her love's mother dead and her true love being strangled, something inside her snapped. "Let him go!" She growled. Fire shot from her fingers, smashing into the ground. Her hair whipped about her head. Finally, fire circled around her feet, spiraling upwards, burning her clothes.
Shionna stood shocked at her daughter's display of power. She didn't have the ability to manipulate fire in such a manner.
"Atsume?" Shionna called, walking up to her daughter and touching her on the shoulder. It burned her hand, so she jerked back.
Horatio stared dumbfounded at Ember. Not even I have that much control, he thought. "Yes, you little half-breed wench. Soon, your lover will be dead, either me or you in your own explosion. How do you want him to go?"
Ember pointed a single finger at Horatio's face. "Only you will die!" She growled, shooting a single stream of fire at his face. It hit him and, in pain, forced him to drop Ignite to the floor. Soon, Horatio's ashes lay where he had once been standing.
Ember snapped out of her rage as soon as Ignite hit the floor. She raced to him, "Ignite! Wake up! Ignite! Please don't be dead!"
He slowly opened his eyes and looked at her. A soft smile crossed his lips, "Ember, I love you even if you're a half-demon."
She collapsed on top of him and hugged him tightly. "I love you too, Ignite!"
Derrick looked at his wife of twenty years, and then he looked at his daughter and the demon she held herself to and confessed her love to. Atsume Ember had grown up too fast for his liking, and now she would be leaving them for good to start her own life. Even though she had fallen for a full demon, he was proud of her nonetheless.
Shionna smiled and walked up next to her husband. "I think I'm ready to let her go and grow up. She seems to happy now." Shionna said, embracing him from the side.
