A woman dressed in black from head to toe stood alone. For everyone other then herself had left hours ago. She was soaked to the bone from the rain that was falling as freely as her tears but she noticed none of this. For she was numb, inside and out, emotionally and physically and she was alone. The one she lived for was gone from this world. Maybe not completely, but theoretically. Her hand slowly drifted to her belly. She felt so empty, dead even. The woman almost wished she could die, but she still had to live. For her baby. Maybe the one person who had been there for her through everything was gone she still had to live. For what they created with their love for one another.
Her hand dropped to her side and she fell to the ground on her knees in front of his tombstone. That is all he was now, a name on a stone marker. He no longer mattered to this world and never would he again. While she sat the world around her started to darken even more as the sun sunk farther behind the clouds. Slowly she brought her hands to her face as her sobs started racking her body and she fell to her side on the wet ground.
It was now pitch black outside, but she couldn't bring herself to leave. Grudgingly the woman made her way to her car. She sat in the front seat, not even bothering to keep it from getting wet. For a moment as she looked out to the lake to her west and the thought of suicide ran through her head. Though quickly she shook it out.
"That's right I have to live not only for myself, but for the baby. Still I don't think I can, I really don't." She whispered her eyes closing briefly as a ghostly smile made it's way onto her pale lips. Opening them she started her car letting out a sigh before driving herself away from the world and her worries.

- Description: Well this is just a short drabble I wrote about a woman who's husband died right after she found out she was pregnant. Criticism is great, but please don't be too harsh. Any who look forward to more. I love writing short stories and currently I'm working on two others.
