Chapter 2
Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter or Twilight
The train blew its whistle, as hundreds of children rushed on board the Hogwarts Express on Platform nine and three quarters. Draco stood leaning against the wall in the shadows. He grabbed his trunk and tried to find an empty compartment. He got lucky. There was a totally empty compartment way in the back of the train. He slide open the door and sat down, putting his trunk next to him.
The door slide open and Harry Potter, Ron Weasly, Hermione Granger walked in laughing. The laughter died when they saw Draco sitting in the compartment.
“Though you’d be with your minions, Malfoy,” Ron sneered.
“I got tired of them,” Draco said smiling at Hermione
Hermione grinned back.
Harry looked back and forth between Hermione and Draco. “Why are you two smiling,” He frowned.
“I’m not smiling,” Draco said. “Why don’t you guys get outta here, huh?” Draco sneered.
“Well fine, we’ll find a compartment where it doesn’t stink like pure-blood then!” Ron yelled.
Hermione grimaced, “That’s not very nice.”
“Well, since when are people nice to Malfoy,” Ron laughed as he and Harry turned to find another place to sit.
A soon as Harry and Ron had left, Hermione sat down next to Draco. “Missed me?” She asked smiling.
“Oh course,” Draco smiled a little.
“You don’t seem very happy. What’s wrong?” Hermione asked concerned.
“Oh, no it’s nothing,” Draco said beaming.
“Oh, well okay. What did u do during your summer?”
“Nothing much,” Draco smiled falsely. He wrapped his arms around Hermione and pulled her in for a kiss, when the door slammed open.
“Ah!!!” Ron yelled as he stood frozen in the doorway. “What are you two doing???”
“What are you doing Weasly? Move out of the way,” a loud voice called from behind Ron. The person shoved Ron aside and stepped in.
Pansy Parkinson, stood unmoving with a look of betrayal on her face, Draco still had his arms around Hermione.
Ron turned and stomped out to find Harry. “Ron, wait!” Hermione yelled. Draco dropped his hand into his lap. Hermione stood up and looked at Draco. “I’m sorry,” she whispered, before turning to run after Ron.
After Hermione left Pansy stood motionless yelling, “How could you do this to me? And her?”
Draco ignored her, sighing. It was only the first day; they hadn’t even got off the train yet. Why was this happening?
“Ah!” Pansy shrieked. Passing students turned to stare. Some even stopped stood outside waiting to see what would happen.
“Why Hermione! Why her and not me!” Pansy sobbed. The students outside gasped some of them ran off, probably to go spread the word. Draco groaned.
“Are you even listening to me?”
“Nope,” Draco said coldly.
Pansy turned and ran out the door sobbing.
“What are you looking at?” Draco snapped at the first years staring at him. Frightened they scurried off.

The train blew its whistle again. Everyone hurried off the Hogwarts Express determined to the castle for the feast. Draco stood up, grabbed his trunk, and pushed through the crowd, trying to find Hermione. Hermione was about five feet away from him talking urgently to Ron, with Harry by his side. Harry glanced up at Draco, “Looks like your knight in shining Slytherin robes is here.” He and Ron walked into the castle.
Draco walked over to Hermione, “I’m sorry about all this.”
“It’s okay,” Hermione said softly. Most of the students were inside now, and the ones who were still outside were to faraway to notice them.
“What do we do now,” Draco whispered, “I guess we shouldn’t be together.”
“What? No! Since everyone already knows then-“
“It’s for your own good,” Draco said turning away, thinking about the Dark Lord’s threat.
“What, how could you say that?” Hermione sobbed.
“I’m really sorry,” Draco said coldly as he walked away, to the castle.
Hermione stood still, with silent tears, streaming down her face.
Draco hated to see Hermione this way, especially because he had caused her to be like this. First day, and he had already broken two hearts.
* * * In the Great Hall the first years were already being sorted into the four houses.
Draco quietly sat down on the edge of the Slytherin table, hoping he wouldn’t be seen.
But, he didn’t think he’d get that lucky this time, almost all of the heads had turned to him when he had walked in.
“Jonson, Cassandra!” Professor McGondall yelled loudly. A girl with long curly bronze hair and chocolate brown eyes stepped up to the hat. All the boys looked up at her in awe. (Heh heh) The hat was placed on her head and just then the door to the Great Hall slammed open. Hermione stalked in and sat on the edge of the Gryffindor table. Harry and Ron glanced up at her from across the table.
“Slytherin!” The hat yelled.
Everyone in Slytherin cheered and clapped, as Renesmee walked over to their table smiling dazzlingly. She sat down next to Draco.
After a few more new first years were sorted, the feast began. The plates were filled with food.
“I’m Cassandra Rose Jonson,” Renesmee said turning to Draco.
“Draco Malfoy, nice to meet you Cassandra,” he said.
“You can call me Cassie,” Cassandra said glanced between Draco and Hermione all the way on the other side of the hall. She just shrugged. Draco was glad she didn’t bother him with questions.
“You know you don’t really look like a first year, you look older,” Draco remarked after awhile.
“I know that’s because I’m a sixth year. I was home schooled, but then I came here,” Cassandra explained smiling.
“Oh, well, hum… I didn’t know you could get home schooled in magic,” Draco said quietly, poking at his food.
Everyone finished eating, and Dumbledore gave his little speech, then everyone left for the common room and their dorms. Cassandra walked next to Draco as they went down to the dungeons a.k.a their common room.
“Isn’t it weird sleeping in the dungeons?” Cassandra asked.
“Oh don’t worry it’s a lot better than it sounds, it doesn’t look like a dungeon, trust me,” Draco laughed.
Cassandra smiled.
Once they arrived Cassandra could see it looked more like a five star hotel underground than a place to keep prisoners.
Cassandra collapsed in to a couch sighing. She glanced up at the shelf above the fire place. A long black shelf stood there with trophies and books on top.
“Slytherin yearbooks?” Cassandra said amused as she walked towards the shelf.
“Yep, strange huh?” Draco said following her.
Cassandra reached up take one of the books down, when the sleeve of her robe slid down, revealing the Dark Mark.
Draco grabbed her hand. “You’re a death eater?” he whispered urgently.
Cassandra stared fearfully in his eyes nodding her head slowly.
“Then-then will you help me?” Draco asked.
“Do what?” Cassandra said.
“Kill…Dumbledore,” Draco whispered.
Cassandra looked up terrified.
She nodded her head once.
