"A Halloween ball? You've got to be kidding me."
Megami sat reclining in a high back chair in Loki's father's old office, now Loki's office after his father's death. Megami's waist length blue hair was draped over the left side of the chair as she leaned on her arm, resting on the left arm rest.
"I'm afraid so. We've been invited to the masquerade by the Queen herself."
Loki replied to Megami and then tossed the invitation onto the large cherry wood desk he sat at. He ran a hand through his messy, long, midnight hair. His amber eyes lazily gazed over at Megami. He raised a brow as Megami suddenly smirked and leaned on the desk, his elbows sitting on the wood surface, his head resting in his hands.
He studied Megami, intrigued.
"What?" he asked the blue haired girl.
"I can go as anything I want, right?" she asked, eyes gleaming.
Loki looked at her suspiciously.
"What exactly are you thinking?" he asked, though he knew very well where this was going.
"I'll just attend as myself." She said, spreading her arms and smiling.
Loki sighed and smirked back.
"I knew it." he replied to her, then closed his eyes and leaned back in his chair, waving his hand dismissively at her. "Do whatever you want, just don't hurt anyone."
Megami laughed and stood from her chair. She walked to Loki's desk and leaned as far over it as her 5'2" frame would allow.
"You know I wouldn't hurt anyone...too much." She grinned and stepped back. "It'll be fun, I promise."
She turned and began walking to the door of the large office, waving behind her.
"I'm heading to bed. I'll see you tomorrow night at the ball."
Loki watched her leave and shook his head, spinning in his chair to look out at the night through the large window behind his desk.
Tomorrow was going to be a long night.
Loki had arrived at the ball at the perfect time. Most of the attendees were there already, and were too busy minglng to care who was still arriving.
Because he was already a vampire, he really didn't need a costume. He wore a black cape with a blue inside that swept the ground as he walked, his boots clapping on the marble floor of the ballroom. He wore a black suit beneath the cape with a red ascot style tie, plain white button up shirt, and black dress pants.
He had been looking for Megami, but it seemed like she hadn't shown up yet so he approached the Queen by himself, bowing politely at the waist and complementing her on her excellent Queen of Hearts costume. She had smiled and thanked him for coming, and he then left to blend into the crowd.
After finding an empty table, Loki took a seat and draped his cape over the back of his chair. His sipped on a red liquid, which was not wine, and watched the room of high class men and women. They were all such a bore, really. There wasn't one among them who was good for a decent conversation. Loki looked around, wondering where Megami had gotten off to.
Just as he thought about her, the lights all went out, leaving the room in complete darkness, not that it was a problem for him. He heard a few women yelp in surprise and someone dropped a glass off to his right. But what caught his attention was the all too familiar scent that suddenly filled his nostrils.
Moments later, a single light was turned on in the center of the dance floor. Every attendant at the ball gasped in either shock, surprise, or fear as a lone figure was bathed halfway in the little light that was above her.
There, smirking wildly in the center of the dance floor, was none other than Megami, dressed as, well, herself, though a little less clothed Loki noticed. She wore black knee high boots that laced in the front, fish net stockings, and what seemed like the bottom of a black leather liatard with a black leather cape attatched at her waist that reached her ankles. Her top was a black leather tank top that left all of her stomach revealed and she wore black leather gloves with slits where the fingers would have been that reached her wrists. Her arms were covered by fishnet sleeves and bat earrings dangled from her pointed ears. But the outfit was the least of the crowd's concerns. Megami was in her full demon form, her black demon wings tucked at her back, her black dragon tail curled at her side, resting on the floor, and large cicle claws protruded from her boots near where the toe next to her big toe would be.
Megami smirked broadly, half her face covered in shadow, the other covered in the faint light that was above her. Her fangs gleamed in the dim light and her left blue slit eye was the only one visible at the moment, making her seem even more creepy than she already did.
Many women screamed and tried to run from the ballroom, only to trip over things in the dark. Other muttered about how such a person was allowed into the ball, and some even wondered if Megami was even in a costume.
Loki grinned widely and stood, slowly making his way toward her. Leave it to Megami to make such a flashy entrance. He reached the dance floor and the lights turned back on. He continued his way to her and Megami turned to him. He reached his right hand out towards her. Megami smiled and took his hand.
Loki pulled her sharply to him and wrapped his left hand securely around her waist, while his right hand entwined their fingers together. In moments they were spinning across the dance floor to silent music, their bodies pressed tightly against one another. It almost seemed like they were floating on air. They were graceful and rough at the same time.
All the other guests could do was stare as the demon and vampire twirled and stepped to music only the two dancers could hear. The Queen too was surprised and was too transfixed on their dance to motion to the musicians to play music for the couple.
Loki and Megami's dance seemed to get faster, and had they been human, would have most likely been tired out or dizzy by now. But the two danced on and on for a long while, Loki spinning Megami out from his grasp, then back again, until he dipped her, her hair spilling out, reaching the floor, his face mere inches from her chest. They stayed like that for a moment before he pulled her sharply up, then let go of her, gently placing a kiss on the palm of her hand with his cold lips. Though his skin was cold, his eyes could burn holes through your soul. But Megami looked back at him, her eyes boring into his with just a much intensity.
They had almost forgotten where they were, when the Queen suddenly was knocked out of her trance, and she motioned for the musicians to begin playing a song. Megami and Loki looked around at the other guests, who were still transfixed on the couple. They looked at each other and smirked. They seemed to have sufficiently scarred most of the occupents of the room.
Loki took Megami's hand and the two walked to the entrance together, under the stare of hundreds of pairs of eyes.
Another Halloween trick or treat well executed.

- Another thing is, you may want to find a way to make the description of Megami's entrance outfit shorter. There has to be something in your setting that you could compare it to; as you don't need to be so literal and detailed in such a manner.

- The writing itself was alright, though it seemed a bit... drab. I personally dislike the vampire, demon cliche, especially when that demon has a 'demon form' but that being said, a technical flaw that caught my eye was when Megami leaned over the desk, and you not-so-subtly defined her height, not only in exact form but in numbers as well.
