The wind blew softly from the east ruffling Aylas straight black thigh lenght hair. Her features, especially her emerald green eyes, showed irritation.
The young elve was in the forest. It was the Foram Forest, her family home. She has always lived in this forest ever since she was born. The weather was always pretty moderate, not to cold yet not to hot. Perfect temperature for living outside! When the weather got out of hand the green canopy of the tree acted as a shield to stop the worst of weather.
That was not the reason for the young teenage elves irrition though. The lovely being responsible for that particular irritation is her little brother Alex. You see his is a five year old and just recently discovered the joys of exploring the forest.
Ayla, as she is his sister, is always chosen as the lucky candidate to look for him.
She continued her search, stopping everyonce in a while to listen for the sound of leaves crunching under peoples feet to give her an idea of where to search.
She turned towards the right, hearing a small crunch of leaves that she wouldn't have even been able to hear if not for her elven heritage.
Their in the shadow of a tree was her wayward brother looking the picture of innocence. his little hands were folded behind his back. His bright blue eyes framed by soft black hair looked at her pleadingly, not wanting to get in trouble for his adventure.
Taking one look at her young brother Ayla's anger faded immediately. How could she stay mad at his when he was looking at her like that?
Running over to the young boy the teenage elve picked him up swining him around, telling him, without words that he was not in trouble.
Alex smiled at her brilliantly, showing off his small white teeth.
"Al you need to stop running off, you cold get hurt. We love you and we would hate for something to happen to you." Ayla said seriously, breaking the silence that decended upon them.
"But I'm being carefull sis nothing will happen, especially if your always on my tail!" The five-year-old said cheekily.
"Baby, I'm being serious. If you go somewhere take someone with you and tell an adult. Can you promise me you will do that?" Ayla asked her brother knowing what the response would be and knowing it would never happen.
"Ok I promise," The small boy said, although they both knew it wasn't so.
"That's as good as I'll get out of you for now." Ayla said, picking up her baby brother and started the treck back towards their house, one of many times she would make this treck because of the menace in her arms.
'Oh well that's life,' She thought to herself with a small smile, looking fowards to the future. At least she would never be bored...
