Aiden
The sky is starting to be a pinkish, golden color as the sun rises. I watch dawn arrive, but not paying attention to it enough as I can’t stop thinking about the chance I’ve been waiting for. I finally let go of my thoughts and moved on to Xander’s bedroom. I strolled through the grand hallway and climbed up the luxurious stairs, as i admired it's black carpeting. I found Blake sitting in the middle of the way as she read a book. I stood in front of her patiently, waiting for her to step aside. I cleared my throat after a while and she shot up with an alarmed glare at me.
“Oh, I’m sorry, sir! Sorry!” she apologized nervously. She’s always like this when she thinks she did something wrong. She nervously bowed down to me and, seemingly, became a statue. I touched her long blond hair and she calmly looked up to me.
“No sin has been revealed in you,” I said. She gave me a pair of warm eyes as they turned from orange to an amber color while my hand stroked her mane. ”How’s that book of yours?”
“Oh! Um… It’s good,” she looked down at it. I followed her glare and then I observed her face. She had gone quiet as her face blushed to a bright pink. She never was the talkative type when I’m with her, but when she’s with her sisters, she wouldn’t stop chatting.
“May I look at it?” I took my hand, that was touching her head, and held it up. She looked at it and then back at the book. She pursed her lips, as she looked at both back and front cover. She started to play with her hands after handing it to me.
“What’s it’s title?” I said when I noticed that it had no heading.
“Uh…It doesn’t have one,” her voice was a bit edgy, when she saw me flipping through pages.
“Novel?” I asked and she nodded her head. “Another romance story, huh?”
“Eh, yes,” she flashed a grin, but then it faded a little. I gave back her book and, when she took it, I placed my hand onto her cheek. Her eyes widened as her face turned brightly red. She looked at me as her eyes turned to a bright red-orange. My eyebrows came together as I noticed she had purple bags under her eyes.
“Aren’t you tired, Blake?” I asked as I passed a finger over her eyelid. She nodded with a “Not at all” response.
“Are you thirsty?” my fingers gently slithered to her neck.
“Well--” was all she said before my ear was next to hers. My arm wrapped around her shoulder as the other just dangled there. She took a deep breath, pushed my collar out of the way, and sank her fangs into my neck. The stab stung, but after a while I got used to it. I looked out the window behind her and listened to her gargle my blood. The sun came out of hiding behind the mountains, making the sky a golden and orange color. The glare of the sun burnt my eyes a little, especially since this is the time when it’s the brightest. Her hand tenderly touched the back of my head and her fingers dug into my black hair. Her arm moved along my spine, and stopped at the middle of my back. I can feel a couple drops of blood rolling into my shirt and down my chest.
The sky quickly began to turn into it’s baby blue color, but the sun beamed more brightly, making my eyes hurt. I looked away and deeply inhaled the sweet scent of her hair. My free hand traveled up and down her back, and slowly pushed her body toward mine. Her fangs released me and her tongue slowly cleaned the trail of blood that was on my neck. I can see blur for a second but then my vision adjusted back to normal.
“How do you feel now?” I asked.
“Hmmm,” was all she said. That’s usually her response saying that she feels better now. I let out a chuckle and her lips met my punctured wound. I patted her back, and took both arms off of her, but she didn’t back away. Her head just rested onto my shoulder with her eyes closed. Blood is just like drinking hot milk before bed time to vampires.
“Come on, Blake--” I kissed her forehead, and I placed my hand on her cheek-- “ lets go hit the hay.”
She lifted her head, and the corners of her lips rose to a grin. I escorted her up the stairs and into a hallway. We passed by Ethan’s bedroom door, and then Emily’s. Music came from Harmony’s dorm when we passed by it, but then faded away as we approached Jett’s gate.
We finally arrived to Blake’s room and I reached for the knob. I turned it and entered her territory. The walls were gray, and was covered in pink and black paper butterflies, which came to life, as we passed by them, leaving a trail of sparkly pink dust in the air. The carpet was bright pink while almost all her furniture is black except for her hot pink bed and curtains. She sat down on her bed as I slowly walked toward the window. I feel alright, but the loss of blood made me feel tired, but since I'm a creature from hell, the remaining blood that I have within me will multiply. I was about a few feet away from her window now.
“Do you want to keep it open?” I asked when I came upon it.
“Yes. Thank you for asking though,” she said as she trace her finger along her bed spread. I closed her curtains and walked toward the exit. I looked at her tired face and gave her the kindest smile I can ever make. She returned the favor and I quietly shut the door. I continued to walk down the corridor, when I heard ladies giggling from Olivia’s area. Out of curiosity, I knocked on her door and it became silent.
“Come in!” she called out. I unlocked the door and peeked in.
“Hey, girls,” I found Olivia and Arianna sitting next to each other wearing joyful smiles. “What are you doing?”
“Oh, we are just having fun… talking,” replied Arianna as she tied her brown hair up in a pony-tail. I never did trust these ladies when it comes to “talking”, but I don’t want them to think that I’m nosy, so I kept myself from asking and decided to change the subject.
“Don’t you think you should be sleeping and leave the rest of your conversation tomorrow night?”
“Oh, common!” they both shouted.
“Please! Just a few more minutes,” an Arianna begged.
“Hehe. A few minutes would turn out to be a few hours,” I said as I crossed my arms and my head slightly leaned to the side. They both pursed their bottom lips, giving me the puppy look.
“You know those don’t work on me,” and they gave me disappointed look. Now those affect me. “Oh please! No! I feel like a father today.”
“Maybe that’s ‘cause you are like a father to us, Aiden,” Olivia commented. I let out a small chuckle.
“But I know I don’t have a face of one,” I reminded them.
“Of course, you don’t,” said a Arianna as she crossed her legs and placed an eraser of a pencil between her teeth, which became a flirty smile. Arianna is a little spoiled, yet a very smart aleck brunette. I might like to have a relationship, but not with one of these girls. I gave them a serious look and they finally gave up with a couple of deep sighs.
“Ok, fine,” Olivia uttered. Arianna stood up, waved good-bye to her friend, and walked pass me out the door, with a exhausted smirk. I followed her out and walked the opposite way from where Arianna was going.
I finally met Xander’s door, and tapped it.
“Who is it?” he called out.
I entered and found him sitting next to his desk, with a hand on his face. He inhaled deeply from his nose and looked up-or should I say turned his face at my direction.
“You tell me,” I directed.
“What do you want, Aiden?” he said, revealing his empty, dull, light gray eyes. I walked up to him and tried to look at his face. His tan face, seemed fine. He doesn’t have any heavy, purple circles around his eyes. But other than his ill looking expression he looks alright.
“You know I can tell if your in front of me--” I stood up immediately from surprise. A bit of a grouch there--“I don’t exactly like it when I get the feeling that someone is starring at me… especially when it’s from a guy.”
“Uh… sorry. You just… eh,” how can I put this without making it sound insulting.
“I don’t feel good,” he groaned as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
“You don’t look thirsty--” He's been like this for almost a year, once a month but I can care less about him. I'm just pretending to care--“Maybe you’re just tired.”
“That’s the problem,” his voice had gone louder and deeper.
“What? You can’t sleep?”
“No!”
“How come?”
It was quiet for a while before he released a sigh.
“I can’t tell you,” he answered calmly.
“Why not?”
“It’s just retarded. You wouldn’t want to waste your time listening to it, anyway,” his voice was scratchy, as he tried to clear his throat.
I’m not worried about him at all, I just have to keep his trust in me to maintain my plot to work. We were quiet for a few minutes, until he broke the silence.
“What are you here for?” he let out a sigh and I watched him swallow.
“Do you remember Aimi… aw, I keep forgetting her last name.”
“Alvarez?”
“Yeah, yes…uh--”
“What about her?” his voice became a whisper at that time. I can hear his heart beat from here. It’s pounding hard and it’s racing as if there is no tomorrow. And his breathing became deep as it tried to calm the beating organ. He's getting nervous. I can tell since he has strong feelings for this human.
“This coming Monday morning, you are going to a high school and start as a normal student from there.”
“Okay, I have no problem in that at all, but what does this have to do with Aimi?” his face turned in my direction.
“You’re going to be her classmate, in Cape Coral, Florida.”
His face turned straight at me with wide eyes. I knew he will be this way, as I noticed his shocked eyes trying to find me-which is hopeless. He stood there as a statue, and continued to "stare" at me with those empty, yet upset glares. I excused myself without another word and shut the door.
