• Have you ever had what people call a near death experience?I have,it wasn't fun and ever since then I have been given a job.
    My job is to save people who die before their time.I do this by following them into death and calling them back.Then I have to help them discover what they need to do before they die.
    I have met my hardest task so far with a young girl named Leana.She is suppose to do something bigger then any one else I have ever helped before.Only problem is,she is also a lot harder to figure out as well.

    CH.1

    I walked through downtown looking for the person who was about to die,it doesn't sound good,but that's what I do.I looked in every store and building I passed.As the tug on my heart grew stronger I knew I was getting closer.I began to wonder who I would be saving this time.
    Last person I had saved had been an old women who needed to tell her children that she loved them before she died.Then because her children found out that they had been loved,they began to love their children and one of the kids grew up to become a doctor.The child then ended up being at the scene of a two bus accident and saved hundreds of peoples lives.
    I hoped that it would be a child,I hadn't done one in a long time.The last one had been nice and had set off a chain reaction that changed the world from thinking women were lame and women around the world got more rights because of her.
    The pull at my heart got stronger and stronger and I began to run.I turned the corner into a alley and met a bad site.Laying in the alley was a girl with blond hair.She had a knife wound in her chest.She had been murdered.
    I quickly pulled out a bandage from my pocket,I always carried some.I tied the bandage around her so as to stop the bleeding and sat down next to her body.It was getting colder and colder,I had to be quick.Then I faded into darkness...
    A light began to grow and I saw the girl looking confused sitting on the...ground.She saw me and got up to walk towards me.
    "Who are you and where am I?"she asked.
    "I am Gabby."I told her kindly.
    "Are you an angel?"she asked wide eyed.
    "No,I will explain later,but right now you need to come with me to come back."I said kindly.
    She shrank away from me.
    "I don't want to go back.That man he,he attacked me!"she exclaimed.
    "Come on,trust me."I held my hand out to her when I said that and smiled. She looked at me hesitantly then took my out stretched hand.
    "OK,but you better be telling the truth."she said,then added"You have to tell me everything when I get out of the hospital."
    "Why would you go to the hospital?"I asked as we walked back.
    "Because I was stabbed,I know that!"the girl cried.
    "Come."was all I said in reply.It began to darken and I knew we were going back.
    "Wait,"the girl said scared as we faded,"where are you?"she was frightened.

    I found myself in the alley and the girl was next to me.I removed the bandage to see that the bleeding had stopped and that her wound was healed.That meant that I had succeeded in bringing her back.She began to stir.
    "Wh...where am I?"she asked opening her eyes.She looked at her chest and saw the blood but no wound."Where did my wound go?"She looked at me,"What did you do?"she asked worried.
    "I did nothing."I told her"Your body did that when you came back.Now,I don't believe I asked your name yet?"
    "Leana,"she said,"Leana Ashton."
    "Nice to meet you Leana Ashton."I said holding my hand out to help her up.She took my hand and she got up.
    "You too,Gabby...?"she said.
    "I don't have a last name."I told her."It's just Gabby.How old are you?"
    "I am 15,you?"Leana answered.
    "107."I said."But,I look 14."
    "Are you some supernatural being or something?"Leana asked.
    "No,"I answered,"I am just a human with a very special case but,enough questions.You need to get home your parents are probably worried.Don't tell them anything though,or they'll think you're crazy."
    "But..."Leana started.
    "Bye!Stay out of alleys!"I called and ran.Leana would still be too tired to keep up,so I knew I was fine.

    CH.2

    Rays of sunshine broke through the curtains of my hotel room to rest on my eyelids.I opened my eyes slowly to show my annoyance at being awakened before I needed to be.The sun paid no attention to my protests and kept shining.
    I sat up and looked around the room,how much had change since I had gotten this job.TVs in hotel rooms and satellite,cable,amazing!Then there was DVD and VCR players,it never ceased to amaze me how much things could change in only a century.
    I stopped gazing around and got a shower,then dressed.I brushed my hair and looked at the clock,Leana still wouldn't be out of school yet.
    "All well."I sighed,"What to do with all my time?"
    I didn't have much money,I had to steal what I did have,so I decided to go for a walk.There weren't very many people on the street and those that were ignored me.I had been walking for almost and hour and still hadn't found anything that could interest me,so I decided to see if I could find out where Leana went to school.Now that I had found and saved Leana,I could track her anywhere,we were bonded in a way.
    I easily found her school,it was near the outskirts of town.It was new and the bricks shined,just cleaned.There was a fence around a field next to it and I saw kids exercising.
    I walked up to the fence and remembered when I had gone to school.I remembered my friends and how they had always made me laugh and smile.Thinking of them made me think of my family.
    The thought of my family saddened me,I hadn't seen them since the night I had had my near death experience.Since the night of my experience I had stopped growing and my new job had called me to some many different places.I had been forced to run away and leave behind everything,my family,my friends,I had had no companions save for a cat,who I had saved,for a couple years.
    A tear escaped my eye as I saw my brother,sisters,mother,and father once more.I had tried to see them again once just glance at them,see them though they would never know who I was,but they were all dead now and I had never gotten to see them.
    Most people wish to stop aging and live forever,but I would do anything to get rid of this curse.I know though,one day I will find the person who will take this job from me and train them,but I don't know how long it will take for me to find them.
