- Description: It was for an english project a couple of months ago. Basically, i saw it as the eye of Pearl, Hester's daughter from the Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Since Pearl associates her world with the scarlet "A" on Hester, her world is tainted by the scarlet letter. It's almost as if she is obsessed with the scarlet letter because there there are times where she is shown trying to recreate her own scarlet letter. For example, she tries to make an "Á" with seaweed. So...yeah...
