- Also I think it's more the style of the shirt rather than the actual position of her body. It does seems to confuse the eye a bit.

- I think your coloring is good. You might try experimenting with shadows, it makes all the difference! I love the eyes, and I like that you included the detail on the bottom of her shoe! Very cute!
