Wow, this tittle just popped into my head. I was just thinking that her colours were warm, happy colours, while her expression, lacked any sign of contentment cold colours. This was done in pencil crayons, with a light bit of editing using a Mac program called iPhoto. Just got rid of the erase marks a bit.

It's good, but her mouth is too low.
Also, the hairline seems to be in the wrong location. Make it contour to the shape of the head.
