A Medusa bust for my best friend's 26th birthday. I had an idea that she might like Gorgons and I guess after 20 years of friendship I know her pretty well. All in all this piece took me ten hours from concept to color. Each snake skin took between 10 to 30 minutes a piece.
Her favorite color is purple, hence the background and the color in her eyes (if you can see that) - Date: 11/08/2008

Make the background black. Then you could have the joy of being sort-of, almost Beardsley-esque.
Blobby purple is doing nothing for this composition from a design standpoint.
Or at least make the purple a solid, saturated color. That wispy background really takes away all of the visual punch. - Report As Spam

- Thanks for the awesome comments! Addressing the descent about the color scheme. I felt that color would have taken away from the detail, so I just put in some pops here and there.
