For keeper1st:
Don't mater if "Hikumi" is for boy or girl. But my best japanese friend was a boy named Hikumi and my husband (he is japanese) named one of his online game boy character also Hikumi.
So in my manga Hikumi is a boy and he have a boy name for me. I don't know if Hikumi is also used for girls but I know from real persons named "Hikumi" that they are boys. (maybe if one day I see a Hikumi girl, I will post here to say that it is a mix name)
